NORTH ARLINGTON β€” A deadly shooting in North Arlington on Sunday left two people dead and another injured as police launched an investigation into the violence that unfolded near Pike and Ridge.

Authorities responded to the area outside 1 Republik North Arlington after receiving reports of gunfire. A heavy police presence quickly surrounded the scene as officers worked to secure the area, assist victims, and collect evidence.

According to preliminary information from officials, three people were shot in the incident. Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while a third victim was transported for medical treatment. Their current condition has not been released.

Witnesses described a frightening and chaotic scene as the sound of gunfire sent people running for safety.

One witness said the situation unfolded suddenly, with people scrambling to get away as panic spread throughout the area. Others described seeing a large police response arrive moments after the shooting.

β€œIt happened so fast. Everyone was trying to figure out what was going on and get out of the area,” a witness said.

Police have not released information about what led to the shooting, whether the victims knew each other, or if any suspects have been identified. Investigators remained on scene gathering evidence and speaking with witnesses as they worked to piece together the events leading up to the gunfire.

The area around Pike and Ridge was temporarily impacted as emergency crews responded. Authorities are urging residents and drivers to avoid the area while the investigation continues.

Officials have not yet released the identities of the victims pending notification of family members.
